Introverts' Social
A short intro to Tulkee's reason of existence
Hello friends
Are you an introvert who wants to connect with like-minded people? Do you feel lonely and misunderstood in other social platforms? If so, you are not alone. According to a recent study, 50% of introverts report feeling unhappy and isolated in social media, compared to only 12% of extroverts. That’s why I created Tulkee, a social network for introverts, where you can have meaningful conversations, build your own private community, and enjoy real friendships online.
I’m Barack Babacan, the founder of Tulkee. I’m an introvert myself, and I know how hard it can be to find people who share your interests, values, and personality. I used to struggle with social anxiety and I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere. I tried many social networking apps, but they all seemed to be focused on quantity over quality, popularity over authenticity, and noise over silence. I felt overwhelmed and drained by the endless stream of posts, likes, comments, and messages from strangers who didn’t really care about me or what I had to say.
That’s when I decided to create Tulkee, a social network for introverts.

Tulkee is a unique word that combines “talk” and “key”, implying that talking is the key to unlocking meaningful connections. Tulkee is also a safe and supportive environment for all introverts out there. We want you to be able to share your thoughts and feelings openly and honestly in a cozy setting. We also strive to be a platform where meaningful conversations take place and where real connections are made.

Tulkee Story
Tulkee is a place where you can ask a question, chat and connect with real online friends in a cozy and private setting. Tulkee was inspired by a desire to challenge the shallow and impersonal nature of social media platforms.
Social media platforms make us feel more distant and disconnected from each other. We often waste our time scrolling through endless posts, giving likes and comments without really caring or listening. Take the “like button” for example. The like button is supposed to let us show our support or appreciation for someone’s post or comment with a simple click or tap. But the like button actually makes our online communication worse. It is a lazy and superficial way of reacting to what others share. It doesn’t reflect the richness, emotions, and complexity of human communication. It also stops us from having more meaningful and deeper interactions such as commenting or having a conversation. This is just one of the many ways that social media platforms are toxic for us.
Tulkee gives you the freedom and safety you need to be yourself and connect with others. You can join a chat when you reply to a question or a post. When people start a conversation through a question, they are more likely to engage deeply, because they share a common interest, passion, or goal. They can help each other overcome challenges, learn from each other’s experiences, and build lasting relationships with each other (which makes them want to come back again and again).
In public, we often hide our weaknesses and curiosity. We act like we know everything and speak with absolute certainty to protect our image. I designed Tulkee to be the opposite of the “fake reality” of social media. You will see it when you try it.
Now, you must be wondering how Tulkee came into existence. Let me tell you a story. A few years ago, I was going through a rough patch in my life. I had lost my job, and my confidence. I felt lonely, depressed, and hopeless. I tried to find some comfort and support online, but I was disappointed by the lack of genuine and meaningful conversations. I felt like no one really understood me or cared about me. I felt like I had no voice, no value, and no friends.
That’s when I had an idea. What if there was a social network for introverts like me, who crave meaningful conversations and real connections? What if there was a place where I could ask questions, share my thoughts and feelings, and chat with people who share my interests and values? What if there was a place where I could be myself, without fear of judgment, rejection, or ridicule?
I decided to make that place a reality. I taught myself how to code, design, and market an app. I spent countless hours watching YouTube videos, taking Udemy courses, browsing StackExchange and Apple Developer Forum. I faced many challenges, setbacks, and failures, but I never gave up. I was determined to create something that could help me and others like me.
Along the way, my wife Kinga, who shared my vision and passion joined me as my partner and helped me with the marketing side of the app. Together, we created Tulkee, a social network for introverts, where you can have meaningful conversations, build your own private community, and enjoy real friendships online.
Tulkee changed my life for the better. It helped me overcome my loneliness, depression, and hopelessness. It helped me find my voice, my value, and my friends. It helped me discover a cozy place for introverts to chat.
And I want to share that place with you. I want you to experience the benefits of Tulkee. I want you to feel less lonely and more connected. I want you to find your voice, your value, and your friends.
